Initially, I thought that I will be able to do it all on my own. At that time, I was in my early 20s and I had this totally wrong impression that I was wearing a superman cape and I could do it all by myself.
Soon enough, I found myself bogged down trying to re-invent the wheel. While I was great at three big areas, Sales, Marketing and Team. I was anything but extraordinary in other key areas of business. That included Finance, True Leadership, Systems and more.
Things have improved since. But back then, I choose to do it the long and hard way that is all because I thought I was a superhero and I felt I could lift mountains.
As you can imagine, I had the mind and the spirit of an entrepreneur making great strides in new ventures but my existing businesses suffered because I was too proud to ask for help.
On the outside, I looked tough skin, savvy and successful. Inside, I was feeling excited, nervy and scared because I felt my businesses were going out of control. My lack of experience in the other areas was causing me a lot of sleepless nights…
The truth is the stress was getting to me.
The unfortunate thing is help was always available. I was stupid not to use it.
It cost me dearly. It took me a good three years before I went to seek for help and hired some Mentors. Since then, the results I have experienced has been phenomenal.
Under their guidance, I gained the knowledge, leveraged their experienced and shaped my mindset to be successful in the other areas. Every Mentor would teach me something that they were absolutely best at whether it was about Finance, Delegation and Management and more.
It took me years to find the right Mentors and years to implement, test and fine tune them into my businesses.
